Judges for World Association of Master Chef

The World Association of Master Chefs Judge Program is a specialised Program that provides education and skill development at an international level. This is not a 3 day workshop. It is a proper Program with achievable outcomes.

Assessment: The Program is split over 4 Levels and each level builds on the experience of the other.

Each level will require to you complete the following:

    • Online assessment theory
    • Case Study Assessment report
    • Video evidence
    • Observed Practical implementation (Level 4 only)

The program is designed to allow Chefs to work towards the title of WAMC International Judge and is split into four levels.

Location: The Program is a mixture of online training and skills development as well as some practical application and evidence.

Number of places: Initially 50 places globally.

Program Cost: USD$360 Full Program (USD$180 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)*)

Payment plan is available upon request.

*RPL requires extensive experience in international judging already and evidence to support the application.

Program duration: Minimum of 3 months but you may be able to get it completed sooner

Eligibility:

    • Must be a confirmed Member of The Association
    • Must be at least 20 years of age
    • Must have at least 2 years industry experience.
    • Must have access to a computer

For RPL recognition you must have:

    • At least 5 years international judge experience (verifiable)
    • Be at least 25 years old
    • Hold at least a Diploma or Degree in Cooking for a recognised institution.

Frequently Asked Questions

So what is the outcome of the Program?

The outcome of the entire Program is for you to be able to design, deliver and execute a full completion, managing all aspects of the contest. This will include all planning, design, team management and assessment of competitors.

Can I do only part of the Program?

Yes you can. There are 4 levels and each level is designed to expand the knowledge of the previous level. Only the completion of Level 4 receives an International Judge medal though.

Why is the Program so long?

This is not a workshop Program. It is a professional Judge training program. This Program will enhance the skills you need to be in international Judge for the World Association of Master Chefs.

Is there any cooking in the Program?

No. this Program is all about managing people and events, and includes your ability to assess.

Why are there only a limited amount of places?

The world Association of Master Chefs does not issue qualifications out to everyone. We respect our programs and focus in on the skills and talents of our members.

Can I get a discount off the Program?

No. The Program cost is set the same for everyone.

Why do I have to do theory work?

As a WAMC judge you are required to know more than just how to assess food. You may be responsible for the entire competition and as such need to understand the different aspects of an event also. It is important that a WAMC judge know how to manage and lead as well as assess.

What is a Case Study report?

A case Study report is a report you write about the topic you are given. It is designed to provide evidence of your ability to formulate a plan and develop a strategy for delivery of an event.

What is the video evidence assessment?

Video Assessment is where you will be given several tasks to do and you are required to have someone video you completing the tasks. This evidence is designed to allow assessors proof of your capacity and capability.

What is Observed Practical Implementation?

This is a major component of the Program and all assessment stems towards the completion of this assessment at Level 4.
You will be observed preforming the management of a completion and or event by one of our certified assessors.
