Overview
The World Association of Master Chefs is one of the largest chef associations in the world with representatives in over 60 countries and many tens of thousands of members. Each year we aim to grow and develop regions to maximise the opportunities for better education and skills development for our members.
WAMC Education Endorsement focuses on a quality assurance process that supports a school or education institute to be appraised for its educational activities within certain courses being offered.
This program has been designed to enhance the marketability of courses being offered by selected colleges, universities, and education providers around the globe. Simply put WAMC endorses schools offering Culinary, Hospitality, and Business Management programs as being exceptional industry-compliant offerings and the quality of training meeting industry requirements at a global level. WAMC then issues an endorsed WAMC accreditation of a similar level alongside the formal qualification from the school, meaning students are awarded two certificates, the formal government qualification, and global industry accreditation.
The WAMC Education Endorsement program is part of the new Global Classroom initiative that is being launched in 2024 and sets the foundation for a worldwide relationship across the Hospitality and Tourism industry. This initiative will bring teaching practices and industry standards closer together and result in a far more attuned student and worker entering the industry to start their careers.

CREDIBILITY
A WAMC endorsed providers carry the official WAMC seal and approval as a respected industry training authority, through credibility and demonstrating consistent quality. This builds trust & confidence among learners and potential employers.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Endorsed programs have undergone a rigorous assessment process via a government compliance system and are verified to hold certification so that they meet the specific standards of WAMC. This quality assurance process is different in each country which is why WAMC looks to endorse approved and credited programs. Once confirmed that they have been evaluated and deemed worthy of a globally accredited endorsement, WAMC will endorse the program and provider.
INDUSTRY RECOGNITION
Endorsed programs receive global recognition and acknowledgement via WAMC and this is a key aspect of quality commitment for industry professionals and employers. This recognition can enhance the program’s reputation and increase the value of the qualification received from the education provider, through the support of a WAMC accredited Certificate also.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
01 How does it work?
Application is made to WAMC to have your courses and programs endorsed with an official Accreditation from WAMC. An inspection of the facilities and training staff may be required.
Once approved an official agreement is signed between WAMC and the Education provider, certifying them as an Officially Endorsed provider. Providers can then market their endorsement and promote industry accreditation as part of their offering for endorsed courses.
02 How long does it take to be approved?
Depending on the location and access to a WAMC-approved assessor, the process can take up to 2 months, however, most applications will normally take 4 weeks if all information is provided in a timely manner.
03 How can providers market the accreditation of their programs?
Providers are encouraged to promote their relationship with WAMC and use the WAMC brand. Once approved the provider can use the WAMC logo on their marketing materials and social media platforms.
04 Does WAMC have any control over how programs are delivered?
No.WAMC does not interfere with the program structure, delivery, or resources provided by an education provider.WAMC assesses programs and providers based on a set of key principles that are fundamental to quality and compliance only. Where areas of improvement may be identified, WAMC may offer suggestions but will not make changes mandatory.
05 What’s the benefit to the students?
Traditionally students receive a formal qualification upon completion of a course through a provider. Once they leave the provider’s care and enter the workforce they are often not heard of again. Through a WAMC-endorsed program, students receive in addition to their qualification, a formal accreditation certificate of equal level from WAMC. For example they complete a Diploma of Hospitality management from ABC College, They also receive an Executive Diploma of Hospitality management from WAMC.
06What is the benefit to the education provider?
Industry recognition is important in many industry, none more so that Hospitality where quality and expertise is of a high priority. Having a WAMC accreditation is a great way to show that a course or program is verified by an industry leader as being of the highest quality and calibre. While many providers may apply, not all are accepted.
07 Is the accreditation certificate government approved?
No. WAMC does not compete in issuing certificates with education providers. WAMC only issues industry Accreditation, not government qualifications. WAMC partners with providers to issue qualifications.
08 Can a provider offer more courses under the endorsement agreement?
Yes, WAMC encourages growth, development, and additions to course offerings. The only request is that WAMC be notified of the new program so it can be listed on their database.
09 Is the accreditation certificate recognised elsewhere?
Yes. Through partnership arrangements in the program WAMC accreditations can be used for Recognition of Prior Learning, Credit towards a course and even in some instances time off a program of study, and this will depend on the country and the arrangement in place with the partners. As the program grows more and more providers are accepting WAMC accreditation certificates in support of a qualification as evidence of quality in education.
10 Does it cost anything?
Due to the nature of education globally and the different aspects to consider when dealing with so many cultures and locations, the fees are calculated on a case-by-case basis and negotiated so as to not overburden the provider. There is an application fee that may be wavered if WAMC has a presence in the country and can have verification made locally. In addition there is a small fee paid per student who completes a course or qualification that is endorsed. This fee is negotiated and agreed to as part of the formal process between WAMC and the provider.
