- Your occupation must fulfil genuine need by the business that an overseas worker is needed
- You must only do the work or activities for which your visa was granted
- Can grant stay from 3-6 months (for a stay longer than 3 months, a strong business case must be provided with the application)
- You can t apply for this visa in Australia or stay longer by extending this visa
Stage 2
SUBCLASS 482
Temporary Skill Shortage visa
(TSS)
(Medium-term Stream)
Approximate processing time: 3-6 months
(Based on current environment)
IELTS 5555 or Equivalent
Medium-term Stream
- Your occupation is on either the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) OR the Regional Occupation List (ROL)
- You can work in Australia for up to four years
Currently, the Department is prioritising applications on the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)
Stage 3
SUBCLASS 186
Employer Nomination Scheme visa
(Direct Entry OR Temporary Residence Transition Stream)
Approximate processing time: 9-14 months
(Based on current environment)
IELTS 6666 or Equivalent
Direct Entry Stream
- You must be nominated by an Australian employer
- Your occupation must be on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations
Temporary Residence Transition Stream
- You must hold a TSS
- Usually, you must have worked for your employer full-time for at least 3 years
- You must be nominated by your employer
