The World Association of Masterchefs (WAMC) – Malaysia Chapter proudly announces the successful completion of the 5th Edition of the Sarawak International Culinary Challenge (SICC) 2025, held in UCSI University Campus Kuching, Sarawak. This year’s event marks a significant achievement in strengthening professional culinary partnerships in East Malaysia.
This edition of SICC was made possible through the strong leadership of the Kuching Chefs Association (KCA), led by its President, Chef Abang Rahman, and the dedicated efforts of the Organising Chairman, Chef Fikri. Their commitment and teamwork played a crucial role in elevating the competition’s quality and overall experience.
WAMC Malaysia, represented by Chef Fadzly Che Omar, Deputy President of WAMC Malaysia and Chief Judge for SICC 2025, worked closely with KCA to ensure that the event adhered to international judging standards and competition protocols. The collaboration strengthened the credibility and professionalism of the competition, providing participants with a world-class evaluation framework.
SICC 2025 brought together talented chefs, culinary educators, hospitality students, and industry partners from across Malaysia and the region. This having participants from Brunei and Indonesia. Competitors showcased exceptional creativity, technical mastery, and cultural expression, reflecting the vibrant culinary heritage of Sarawak and its growing influence in the region.

WAMC Malaysia extends its heartfelt appreciation to President Chef Abang Rahman, Chairman Chef Fikri, the organising committee, respected judges, volunteers, sponsors, and all participating chefs. Their collective dedication made this year’s competition a resounding success and reinforced Sarawak’s position as an emerging culinary hub.
The World Association of Masterchefs congratulates all winners and participants of SICC 2025. WAMC Malaysia remains committed to fostering excellence, supporting culinary talent, and strengthening partnerships across Malaysia and beyond. We look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration with the Kuching Chefs Association and contributing to the growth and prestige of future editions of the Sarawak International Culinary Challenge 2026.
