The World Association of Master Chefs (“WAMC”) is the data controller for personal information processed through this website and our member services.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: your name and contact details; membership and chapter information; professional credentials; payment records (fees, commissions); event and course participation; newsletter subscriptions; and technical data such as your IP address and pages visited.

3. How we use it

We use your information to administer membership, run events and courses, process fees, communicate with you, recognise achievements, operate chapter pages, and improve our services. We rely on your consent, the performance of our membership agreement, and our legitimate interests as the legal bases for processing.

4. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter we store your name and email to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (e.g. payment and email providers), with your chapter's authorised committee where relevant, and where required by law.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations. Retention periods for member, audit and backup data are set in our internal policies.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing, and request portability. To exercise any right, contact us.

8. Cookies

This site sets one cookie of its own, wamc_session. It keeps you signed in and remembers preferences such as your chosen language. It is strictly necessary for the site to work, it holds no advertising or tracking identifier, and it is not shared with anyone.

We run no analytics or visitor-tracking software of our own. Advertising on public pages is a separate matter and is described in the next section. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking the session cookie will stop you being able to sign in.

9. Advertising

Public pages of this site carry advertising. Advertising is never shown inside the member portal: if you are signed in as a member, no advertising code runs and nothing about your visit is sent to an advertising network.
