Application details →Money helps, but mentorship is the older tradition. Every junior WAMC member is paired with a senior mentor in their first year — by chapter, by discipline, and by mutual consent.
Pairings are reviewed annually. Some last a year; many last a career.
Mentorship is a duty of senior membership, not an optional extra. Members at Senior tier and above are expected to mentor at least one junior member at any given time.
Members and sponsors can endow named scholarships in any of our open streams, or propose new ones. The minimum endowment is $27,000; named funds in perpetuity from $110,000.
